The Preston Township Board of Supervisors, Wayne County, 1515 Crosstown Highway, Lakewood, PA is seeking sealed bid proposals until 8:45 a.m. prevailing time on Thursday, May 4, 2023 for a Driving Surface Project of approximately 1352 feet and 300 feet of bank stabilization as specified for Wayne Conservation District’s Environmentally Sensitive Maintenance of Dirt and Gravel Roads Program. Project to include Driving Surface and bank stabilization on Township Road TR684, Creamery Road. This is a Prevailing Wage Project. Bids will be publicly opened at the Board meeting scheduled for 9:00 a.m. prevailing time on Thursday, May 4 2023 at the Township Municipal Building, Lakewood, PA. The material is to meet strict Program guidelines. Guidelines include: materials, hauling, delivery, sampling and documentation specifications. The successful bidder will provide crew, equipment, material for the project, IRS Form W-9, CDL certification, certificates of insurance, payment and performance bonds within twenty days of the award of the contract. Failure to do so will be considered a breach of contract and grounds to cancel contract. Bids will only be accepted on the forms of the DSA Bid Package. NOTICE IS HEREBY given that the Annual Budget Hearing of the inhabitants of the Hancock Central School District qualified to vote at school meetings in the district will be held at the Central School building on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. for the transaction of such business as is authorized by Education Law.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school purposes may be obtained by any taxpayer in the district during fourteen days immediately preceding the annual budget hearing, except Saturday, Sunday, or holidays at the school district offices between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that the vote upon the appropriation of the necessary funds to meet the estimated expenditures, or any propositions and the election of the members of the Board of Education shall be held separately from the annual budget hearing on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in the central school building auditorium, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Petitions nominating candidates for the offices of members of the Board of Education must be filed with the Clerk of the District not later than April 17, 2023 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The following vacancies are to be filled:
A. For the Board of Education, one three-year term ending June 30, 2026, presently held by Nick Hazen;
Each petition must be directed to the Clerk of the District, be signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the district, shall state the residence of each signer, the name and address of the candidate, and shall describe the specific vacancy of the Board of Education for which the candidate is nominated, which description shall include at least the length of term of office and the name of the last incumbent. No person shall be nominated for more than one specific office.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that any proposition that is required to be included for vote shall be submitted in writing by means of a petition signed by at least 25 qualified voters stating the residence of each signer, which petition shall be filed with the Board of Education not later than 30 days prior to the date of election set forth in this notice. Any proposition may be rejected by the Board of Education if the purpose of the proposition is not within the powers of the voters or where the expenditure of money is required, by the proposition and such proposition fails to include the necessary specific appropriation.
MILITARY BALLOTS: Military voters who are qualified voters of the School District may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application from the District Clerk. For a military voter to be issued a military ballot, the District Clerk must have received a valid ballot application no later than 5:00 pm on April 20, 2023. In a request for a military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, facsimile transmission or electronic mail. Completed military ballots must be received by the School District by 5:00 p.m. on May 16, 2023 in order to be counted.
ABSENTEE BALLOTS: An application for an absentee ballot may be obtained at the Office of the Clerk/District Office. Such application must be received by the District Clerk at least seven days before the vote set in this notice if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the vote if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the absentee voter. Absentee ballots must be received in the Office of the District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m. on the day of the vote.
A list of all persons to whom absentee voters’ ballots have been issued shall be available for public inspection during regular office hours which are between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Any qualified voter may, upon examination of such list, file a written challenge of qualifications of a voter of any person whose name appears on such list, stating reasons for the challenge. Such written challenge shall be transmitted by the Clerk or designee to the Inspectors of Election on Election Day.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
PURSUANT TO SECTION 103 of the General Municipal Law, the Town of Hancock, County of Delaware, State of New York, will accept sealed bids for the care and maintenance of East Branch (new), Harvard and Partridge Island cemeteries in the Town of Hancock for the 2023 season as per specifications.
Bids will be received by the Town Board at the Town Clerk’s Office, 661 West Main Street, Hancock, New York until 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at which time the bids will be opened.
