The Preston Township Board of Supervisors, Lakewood, PA will hold a public hearing at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2018 Board meeting to rescind the current Floodplain Management Ordinance #2013-04-04. After rescinding the current Ordinance the Board will adopt a new updated Floodplain Management Ordinance. The new updated Ordinance is mandated by the Commonwealth of PA Floodplain Management Act of 1978. The Ordinance requires all persons, partnerships, businesses and corporations to obtain a permit for any construction or development; provide for the issuance of such permits; setting forth certain minimum requirements for new construction and development within areas of the township which are subject to flooding and establishing penalties for any persons who fail or refuse to comply with the requirements or provisions of the Floodplain Ordinance.
A copy of the proposed Ordinance is available for review at the Township Municipal Building, Lakewood during normal business hours.
