NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Hancock Rural Fire Commissioners will take place on Tuesday Jan 7th 2014 between the hours of 7:00 pm & 9:00 pm at the Hancock Fireman’s Clubhouse located at Fireman’s Park for the purpose of electing a commissioners of a five (5) year term, currently held by commissioner Randy Whiting commencing January 1, 2014 and ending December 31, 2019. In addition electing commissioners of a one (1) year term for the replacement of Rolland Bojo Sr who has resigned and to fulfil the remainder of his term January 1, 2014 and ending December 31, 2014. Candidates for District Office of Commissioner must file a letter of intent with the Secretary of the Fire District at the address below. Every voter of the Hancock Rural Fire Commissioners who is registered with the Delaware County Board of Elections and who has resided in the district for the period of thirty days preceding the election of the fire district officers shall be qualified to vote for such officers.

TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Village Board of the Village of Hancock on January 13, 2014 commencing at 7:00 p.m. at the Hancock Village Hall, 85 East Front Street, Hancock, NY 13783 regarding a proposed local law entitled "A Local Law Amending the Village of Hancock Vehicle and Traffic Law to Make a 3-Way Stop at the Intersection of Leonard Street and West Front Street."

Notice is further given that the environmental significance, if any, of the proposed local law will be reviewed incident to, and as a part of, said public hearing.

Any person shall be entitled to be heard upon said proposed Local Law, a copy of which is available for review at the Village Clerk’s Office.

Persons with disabilities who require assistance in attending said public hearing, or in furnishing comments and suggestions, should contact the undersigned to request such assistance.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Republican Party of the Village of Hancock will hold a caucus on Tues., January 21, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Village Clerk’s Office, 85 East Front Street, Hancock, New York to nominate a Village Justice for a term of four (4) years to succeed Herbert W. Buckley and to nominate two (2) Trustees for a term of two (2) years each to succeed Alice M. Hartz and William J. Schoon-maker. Nominated candidates will run in the Village General Election to be held on March 18, 2014.
