ASSESSMENT
ROLL
NOTICE OF
MEETING OF BOARD OF REVIEW AND HEARING OF COMPLAINTS
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the undersigned Assessor of
the Village of Hancock has completed the tentative
assessment of the Village of Hancock for the 2013-2014 tax
year and that a copy thereof has been left with the Village
Clerk of the Village of Hancock, 85 East Front Street,
Hancock, New York 13783, where it may be seen and examined
by any interested person until February 21, 2013. On
THURSDAY, February 21, 2013, the Village of Hancock
Board of Assessment Review will meet at the Hancock Village
Hall, 85 East Front Street, Hancock, NY between the hours of
4 p.m. and 8 p.m. to hear complaints in relation to
assessments. All changes in the tentative assessment roll
made as a result of said Board of Assessment Review hearing
of such complaints will be entered on such roll on or before
the date when the final assessment roll is to be completed.

NOTICE OF
PUBLIC HEARING
VILLAGE OF
HANCOCK, NEW YORK
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be
held before the Village Board for the Village of Hancock at
the Hancock Village Clerk’s Office, 85 East Front Street,
Hancock, New York 13783 on the 11th day of March 2013 at
7:00 PM, regarding the adoption of a Local Law to Override
the Tax Levy Limit established in General Municipal Law 3-c.
This law is being proposed to comply with subdivision 5 of
the General Municipal Law 3-c which expressly authorized the
Village Board to override the tax levy limit by the adoption
of a local law approved by vote of a least sixty percent
(60%) of the Village Board. At such time and place all
persons interested in the subject matter thereof will be
heard concerning the same.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the environmental
significance of said proposed Local Law will be reviewed by
the Village Board of the Village of Hancock incident to and
as a part of said public hearing. Copies of the proposed law
shall be available at the time of the hearing and shall be
available at times prior to and after the hearing at the
Village Clerk’s Office for the purpose of inspection or
procurement by interested persons. The proposed Local Law to
Override the Tax Levy Limit established in General Municipal
Law 3-c establishes the Hancock Village Board’s intent to
override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that
may be levied by the Village of Hancock.
