The family of
Lori Phelps will be holding a Back on Track Basket Raffle at
the Crazy Daisy.
She is now in physical therapy and soon will be off her
crutches! However, doctors expect it will take at least two
years for her shattered hip to fully heal. The goal of this
event is to raise money to help Lori with her ongoing
medical expenses. Local businesses and friends have
contributed goods for many baskets valued at $65 and up,
with many valued at over $100 that will be raffled off. A
partial listing of items includes a Makita cordless,
rechargeable drill from Bisbee Lumber and Supply; a special
candy bar gift box created by Kathy Tracy; a gift basket

The Village of Hancock is considering submitting an application to New York State for funding under the Small Cities, Community Development Block Grant Program. To obtain public participation in the process of this consideration and in the possible planning and development of the application, the Village is holding a public hearing as follows:
November 13, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
The meeting will be held in the Village Office, 85 East Front Street, Hancock, New York.
The public hearing will be for the purpose of explaining the Small Cities Block Grant program, including eligible activities and funding levels.
The Village must consider all community development needs, and involve the public in planning for and developing the grant application. The November 13, 2013 meeting will provide an opportunity for residents of the Village of Hancock to comment on the use of Small Cities grant funds.
The public is urged to attend this public hearing to provide input into the application process and to express their views or pose questions with respect to the Community Development Block Grant program.
The Community Development Program is funded under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. The public hearings are held pursuant to Section 570.l31 of Subpart F of the Small Cities Program Community Development Block Grant Regulations.
$12 Million is available for Community Development Block Grant activities in NY. The Village anticipates preparing an application request for $400,000. to be used for owner occupied housing rehabilitation assistance for low to moderate income households.
