Rotary Announces Annual Robinson Poker Run June 1 |
The 4th Annual Mike Robinson Poker Run is set for
Sunday, June 1. Motorcycles, classic cars, cars, trucks, families and
friends are invited to join our poker run through Delaware County. This
event is sponsored by Hancock Rotary Club, but is a true all community
effort. Co-sponsored by the Robinson Family and supported by the Hancock
Fire Dept and Hancock Community Education Foundation.
This year’s event will start at Rotary Clock Plaza in the center of the
Village and after a 60 mile ride/drive through Delaware County and
around the NYC watershed, will end at Hancock Fireman’s Park The Hancock
Fire Dept. will have barbecue chicken ready at noon, music provided by
Tony Giordano, door prizes & a 50/50 drawing. In addition to the Run
itself, the Hancock Community Education Foundation will be holding a
“walk” which will also end at Fireman’s Park.
Proceeds from the Poker Run support the Mike Robinson Scholarship
Fund which was set up in memory of Mike and supporting local men serving
our country overseas.
9-11am: registration across from the Rotary Clock-$20 for poker hand,
dinner & a door prize ticket. You may also buy pre tickets for chicken

Noon: Chicken BBQ and music starts at Fireman’s Park. We will be selling
50/50 tickets & raffle tickets for door prizes.

Callicoon Tractor Parade Is June 8 |
Sunday, June 8, the 12th Callicoon Tractor Parade will
roll down Main Street of Callicoon.
The Parade begins at 12 noon sharp, rain or shine. This year’s Parade
Leader will be Jim and Diane Hughson. Line up for the tractors will be
at the Youth Center at the end of Main Street . There is no registration
fee for the Tractors in the Parade. The Delaware Youth Center is the
sponsor of the Parade and provides the many generous volunteers that
make the Parade possible.
It promises again to be a wonderful day…there will be new T-Shirts
for sale during the parade and again this year the Post Office will
issue a special cancellation stamp, honoring the Tractor Parade. The
Postmaster will be in town during the parade selling the special
envelopes that will commemorate the day. Proceeds of these sales all go
to the Youth Center. This year there will not be a Callicoon Volunteer
Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast because the new firehouse kitchen will not
be ready. Many Callicoon restaurants will be prepared to serve a great
breakfast.
Of course the Parade end (The Kays’ Combine) signals the beginning
of the Chicken Barbecue at the Youth Center field where all the tractors
will be lined up on display. Miller’s Barbecue of Walton will once again
put the barbecue along with the Youth Center’s famous hot dogs on a bun!
See you at the Tractor Parade!

Art
Exhibit Set At Starlight Inn |
For June the Big D Arts and Crafts League
features Doris Cox of our area and Cecelia Laurendeau of Endwell.
The Starlite Gallery at the Inn at Starlight Lake will have the opening
reception on June 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Please come and support the arts in our community.
Doris Cox is from Winterdale, Pa., but you can find her at Klimchok’s
Real Estate office. She came here from Long Island and spends her
summers in PA and her winters in Florida. This helps to vary her
watercolor landscapes which cover the richness of these regions.
Cecelia M. Laurendeau is a largely self-taught artist and photographer
who discovered her talent at age 12 and has been creating art throughout
her life. Her paintings and photos have been exhibited at Studio 120,
Portfolios Café, the Forum Theatre Binghamton, NY, Starbucks Vestal, NY,
and the Broome County Public Library. Her photos have received five
honorable mention awards in the Joyce Smith Photography competition and
several Editors Pick Gold Medallions upon entering the contests at
Betterphoto.com. Cecelia is affiliated with the Fine Arts Society of the
Southern Tier (FASST) where she currently holds a seat on the Board as
Secretary. She is an active member of Roberson Photo Club and Binghamton
Camera Club. Cecelia resides in Endwell.
So please attend the opening on June 7 at 7:30 p.m. at The Inn at
Starlight Lake to meet the artists and mingle with friends.
